Newtown event to celebrate local students

Open Aire Affairs will be holding an event in November at Tyler Gardens in Newtown to benefit local children.

Celebrating Student Success is a program where people can show their support for students in Bucks County. The event will also benefit the Bucks Student Emergency Fund. During the evening, Gladys Mendieta White & Bob White will be honored for their contributions. Past accomplishments from Bob include making the Gladys Mendieta Scholarship for Latina students and publishing a book. A cocktail hour will be held at the start of the event in the venue’s gardens.

The Uptown Band will provide live entertainment to attendees while they eat dinner. The group formed in 2006 and has played nearly 2,000 shows. The musicians have performed at notable venues such as Bucks County Community College and the Berkshire Country Club. The band’s set list contains songs by popular performers like Bruno Mars, The Temptations, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. The Uptown Band can also perform holiday music and jazz.

The benefit dinner will be held on Saturday, November 5 and will start at 6:00 pm. Individual tickets to Celebrating Student Success can be purchased for $250. Companies interested in sponsoring the program can pay between $500 and $10,000. Those who hold fundraiser dinners similar to this may thank the sponsors for their support by sending them Corporate Gifts after the event.
