Newtown families will have a choice of transportation in order to enjoy viewing holiday light displays this season.
A nearby farm is holding a Dashing Thru the Lights two-mile run/jog/walk to kick off its holiday season. Other people may opt for a simple drive through the farm or a crisp wagon ride.
Dashing Thru the Lights will offer runners, joggers and strollers a romp through an evening holiday light show featuring over three million lights. A DJ will be setting the mood with holiday music, and there will be warm beverages and food too.
The first 2,000 registrants will receive T-Shirts, and the first 2,000 finishers will receive custom medals. Frank’s Fight with ALS and MS Society will receive part of the proceeds.
The following evening the farm will open to the public with its Holiday Light Show. Guests can either drive through the displays in their own cars or enjoy a wagon ride. Afterwards, viewers can make s’mores over a bonfire and enjoy hot cocoa.
There will still be time for photos taken with the farm’s Santa to be made into 2016 Holiday Cards. While at the farm, families may want to pick out their Christmas trees.
The race/jog/walk will take place November 18, at Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley starting at 7:00 pm. The Holiday Light Show will begin on November 19, starting at 5:00 pm.
