Newtown arts company to offer theater program

The Newtown Arts Company will be holding a summer program for young people in July at the Newtown Theatre.

Children interested in developing their theatrical abilities can take part in the Stars of Tomorrow program created by the Newtown Arts Company. The weeklong experience will use industry professionals to teach participants about several crucial aspects of theater, including how to put on a show and build a set. The lessons will also explore character creation, wearing costumes, using props, stage combat, and production work. A performance will occur at the end of the program.

The Newtown Arts Company is a nonprofit organization interested in promoting and advancing theater-related arts in Bucks County. The group presents six shows per year, with this year’s lineup including Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Steel Magnolias, and Matilda the Musical. All shows produced by the company are held at the Newtown Theatre. People can become volunteers for the group and assist with set construction, stage management, and ushering.

The summer theater program will take place from July 11 to July 15, and each session will be from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm. Those interested in enrolling their children in the event can email info@newtownartscompany.com. The experience is intended for those aged 6-14. Theaters with informative camps like this may use printing services to make Signs that promote the events to children.
