Local business association offers Excel-lent opportunity

The Bucks County Business Association (BCBA) will be holding a full-day training course on the essentials of Microsoft Excel in just a few weeks.

Participants can bring their Excel files with them to use during class and for evaluation. They will also need to bring a laptop containing a recent version of Microsoft Excel and their specific problems and questions to do with the spreadsheet-oriented program.

The class will begin with an introduction of ‘Range, Workbooks, and Worksheets’. It will cover basics such as ribbon, templates, data validation, cell formatting and keyboard shortcuts, before moving on to printing, sharing, dialog Boxes, and customizing the toolbar.

Some functions and formulas, such as count and sum, logical, date and time, financial functions, array formulas, and cell references will also be part of the curriculum.

Preregistration will be required for the class, the instructor for which will be Richard Shih, the President of Doctor Excel Consulting. This is a service that specializes in data base automation and data management.

The class is scheduled for Friday, August 7 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Beneficial Bank boardroom, 34 S. Sycamore Street, Newtown. The cost for the class, which will no doubt be advertised with the help of local poster printing companies, will be $99 for BCBA members and $149 for nonmembers.
