A local pop cover band will give an end-of-the-summer performance at the Newtown Athletic Club in August.
The Newtown Athletic Club will invite a pop cover band to perform in the organization’s Friday Night Live concert series. The group is The Zings, a five-person band with vocals provided by Brad Saville and Erin McMenamin. The performers will be playing at many venues, including The Buck Hotel, Molly Maguire’s Irish Pub, and the Pizza Como & PC Club. Many songs are on the band’s setlist, like Build Me Up Buttercup, Can’t Stop The Feeling, and Take On Me.
The Newtown Athletic Club is a fitness facility that originally opened in 1978 as a club for racquetball. The organization has since added amenities like a resort pool and studios for yoga and cycling. Many events are held at the club, including its outdoor music series. Several groups have played at the venue, like Born to Run Down the Dream, The Mike & Laura Band, and Some Assembly Required. The club offers memberships for couples, families, and individuals.
The Zings will perform on Friday, August 11 at 6:00 pm. People interested in coming to the event do not need to be members of the Newtown Athletic Club. However, non-members will only have access to the venue’s bar and dining areas. Sports facilities like this may use poster printing to share their upcoming concerts with others.
