Middletown historic estate to hold annual Daffodil Day

Middletown families will be able to enjoy the Annual Daffodil Day that will take place at the Wadsworth Mansion next month.

In the early 1900s, the Wadsworth Mansion was the home of Colonel Clarence S. Wadsworth, who was well-versed in the conservation and forestry. As a result, the estate was carefully planned in the tradition of a working landscape, incorporating environmentally managed forests and pastureland. After being willed to the City and restored after years of disrepair, the Mansion now hosts nature-related events.

The Daffodil Day event will feature different outdoor activities allowing families to explore nature around the estate. At the Vernal Pool, the staff of Everyday Outdoor will be present to discuss the animals that call the pool home. There will also be a scavenger hunt set up for families to explore the grounds. Other activities include talks by Middletown’s Pollinator Pathway organization and a rock painting station for kids. Food trucks, such as Cake Batter & Roll and Franks Woodfire Pizza Truck, will be available for refreshment options.

Community events often bring out a variety of vendors who may decide to invest in an updated supply of Business Cards to give out to attendees.

The Middletown Daffodil Day is scheduled for April 24 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Wadsworth Mansion is located on 421 Wadsworth Street. Admission is free.
