A five-week in-person meditation course designed for beginners and those seeking to refresh their training is starting in February.
The program, titled Meditation Made Easy, will be led by Dharma Teacher G.R. Lewis and emphasizes accessible techniques such as quiet sitting, voice meditation, mindful breathing, and integrating mindfulness into daily life.
Classes will take place in the serene setting of the Shôyôan Teien Japanese Zen Garden, providing a tranquil backdrop for learning. Each 30- to 40-minute session includes opportunities for questions and guidance from the instructor. Participants are also invited to attend the group's weekly Meditation & Talk gatherings at 9:00 am, offering additional collective practice. Weekly readings from Thich Nhat Hanh’s Happiness will accompany the sessions, enhancing the reflective experience.
Organizers say the course aims to help participants cultivate a consistent meditation routine, reduce stress, and apply mindfulness in everyday life. The five-session series is set to begin on Sunday, February 8. Enrollment closes February 1, and space is limited. The cost of participation is $75, which includes all sessions. Refunds are available up to a week before the start date. Free parking will be available on site.
Brochure printing may be used to provide written information to participants of medication courses such as this one.
The training will take place at 343 Washington Terrace, Middletown on Sunday mornings from 10:50 to 11:30 am. The first one is on February 8.
