Woodbury Earth Day celebration at Hollow Park

For nature enthusiasts and organic food lovers, Woodbury is the place to be at the end of April – specifically at Hollow Park.

Woodbury’s 19th Annual Earth Day celebration plans have taken form this past weekend, drawing excitement and much anticipation from longtime fans of the event, not to mention those newcomers who have a great treat in store.

John Pittari of New Morning Market (now settled in its new location) has grown the event exponentially since its origination. Last year was the first time the event was held at Hollow Park to support the growing crowd, and the extra space has definitely made the difference. The event features local vendors of organic and sustainable products, great music, and a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy all afternoon long. The park is a beautiful, safe place for kids to enjoy the event, and many vendors sell kid-friendly products.

The committee that makes this event possible holds meetings several times a month and is always looking for volunteers, with details of how to get involved available via Danbury’s Patch.com site. The event also seeks new vendors and exhibitors each year, and those interested should visit the Earth Day website to apply. Volunteering posts for the day itself can also be found here.

While the event is a success based purely on word of mouth, many may have missed it last year due to its change in location. To draw even more visitors, New Morning might consider using banner printing and flyer printing in preparation for the big day - April 27.
