Danbury celebrates 2025 holidays with lights and music

Danbury will usher in the 2025 holiday season with its annual Light the Lights Winter Festival and Holiday Pops Concert coming in early December.

CityCenter Danbury is partnering again with The City of Danbury to present this year's Light the Lights. Downtown Danbury will become a Winter Wonderland including live music, and entertainment giving center stage to the lighting of Danbury's 40' holiday tree.

Roberto Alves, Danbury's mayor will do the lighting honors, and Santa, as in the past, will make his grand entrance on a firetruck. Guests are encouraged to start their holiday shopping by stopping by various vendors and continue to enjoy the festivities with free hot chocolate and cookies. One highlight of the evening will be the firetruck parade.

Vendors at special holiday events like this usually get some holiday-themed business cards printed beforehand.

Light the Lights Winter Festival will take place Saturday, December 6th at 1 Ives Street on the Green from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Veronica Hagman Concert Hall will present Holiday Pops, a festive afternoon of holiday music performed by Western Connecticut State University Department of Music. Performances will include the University Choir, Percussion Ensemble and Wind Ensembles and Symphonic Band. Holiday treats will be available after the performance.

Advanced tickets are $15 and tickets at the event will be $25. Proceeds will go to music scholarships.

Holiday Pop Concert will take place December 6th and 7th at 3:00 pm.
