Danbury participates in Holi Festival of Colors

CityCenter Danbury will be presenting Holi Festival of Colors 2026 in the middle of May.

This traditional Hindu festival celebrates the transition of winter into spring with tossing Gulal, a food-grade colorful powder at each other and into the air. Guests are advised to wear white and be prepared to get messy. (Although the powder is safe, it may cause permanent staining.) Stations around the Green will have Gulal available.

Contemporary Indian pop Bollywood and high-energy music tracks will be provided by DJ AD SaaZ who will also be emceeing the color-throw countdowns and the segments between each stage act.

Other festival activities will include a fashion show of India's traditional clothing such as lehengas (South Asian outfits with ankle-length skirt, fitted blouses and draped scarves), saris and kurtas (collarless, loose knee-length tunics), accessories like modern Indo-fusion and Indian attire from modern cultural designers and local vendors.

Local vendors will be hawking Indian art, clothing, crafts, jewelry and other cultural items. The venue will offer live cultural dancing including Bollywood (popular cinematic dance) and Kathak (traditional North Indian dance).
