Horse lovers may enjoy a leisurely benefit ride on trails in a local park coming in mid-October.
The 5-mile Tarrywile Park Benefit Trail Ride will take participants at their own pace through woods, hay fields and passing ponds and Heathstone Castle to visit the old ski slope. Horses may require boots or shoes to traverse the rugged woodland terrain.
The event welcomes all riding disciplines, and appropriate footwear and SEI/ASTM helmets will be required.
Food trucks will be available to purchase food nearer to lunchtime.
Adult tickets are available for $45, and children under 18 can get tickets for $25. Rabies certificates, signed release/waver Forms and negative Coggins / ELSIA withing the last year will be required to participate.
Jr. riders under 17 must have adult accompaniment and must go to the secretary’s table with that adult to sign release/waiver Forms. Older Jr. riders may ride solo.
Younger riders that enjoy events like this often have their pictures taken with their horses. These photos go to nearby Print shops for duplicates for family and friends.
Two and three horse trailers may park inside the park gates, and off Tarrywile Lake Road in fields. The Red Barn area will be reserved for larger trailers.
Tarrywile Park Benefit Trail Ride is slated for Saturday, October 14th beginning at 8:00 am and ending around 2:00 pm at 70 Southern Boulevard. The rides will start at 8:30 am with the last rider leaving the starting area at 11:30 am.
