Danbury pet owners are invited to bring their furry buddies to the 5th annual Pet in the Park Danbury coming in mid-October.
Animal lovers without pets of their own are also invited to attend the five-hour event, which will offer demonstrations, crafts, shopping for pet-related items, rescues, and adoption opportunities.
The venue will offer free face painting and attendees can enjoy ice cream purchased at Jason’s Ice Cream Truck and treats from Streetside Hot Dogs.
Pets are encouraged to come dressed in their best and join the Parade of Pets beginning at 2:30 pm. There will be prizes donated by Hartz Pets, Stew Leonard’s, and Choice Pet.
Pet owners often take pictures of their winning pets to local Stationery printers to be included in family yearly Calendars and newsletters.
At 3:00 pm, the First Congregational Church of Danbury’s Pastor Kriss will hold the Animal Blessing Ceremony.
Adult admission to the event will be $2 and kids under 12 will get in for free. Parking across the street at the Pal Building will also be free. Some of the admission proceeds will benefit local animal shelters.
All pets must be either in carriers or on leashes. Pets in the Park will be Sunday, October 9 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in Danbury Town Park, 36 E Hayestown Road. A rain date of the following Sunday, October 16, has been set.Get a Free Quote for Stationery Get a Free Quote for Calendars
