Radio personality Cindy Vero and Fox TV’s Kelly Wright will be hosting the World Heritage Cultural Center’s Fourth Annual World of Colors Concert in Danbury later this month.
It will be free and everyone is invited to attend in their native dress. Food vendors will be offering a taste of the world.
Musical and dance groups representing cultures of the world – including representatives from Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Russia and the Philippines, and troupes presenting Jewish, Cossack, and Gypsy traditions – will be performing.
Local photographers will want to get plenty of colorful, action-packed photos for future poster printing. Global Appreciation Awards will be presented to organizations, partnerships, and individuals who are making outstanding contributions to cultural awareness throughout the world.
Most people know the iconic songs ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing’ and ‘We Are the World’ for the USA’s support of Africa back in 1985. In that vein, the World Heritage Cultural Center has been working for 10 years now and has held gatherings worldwide.
The WHCC here in Danbury – housed in the Old Empress Theater auditorium, on Main Street – offers workshops and classes in music, acting, dance, and media arts for all ages during the summer and after school.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th, from 10am until early evening at CityCenter Green, Danbury.
