Library has eclectic live virtual programming

Danbury Library has an interesting array of online programming lined up for next month.

The month of offerings begins at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, February 1, when Monuments Men Foundation president Anna Bottinelli will present a talk about recovering the artwork stolen by the Nazis during World War II and the risk the devoted men and women took to acquire it. Bottinelli will also talk about the foundation’s efforts to return the art to its rightful owners.

From 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on February 3, master storyteller Len Cabal will give a lecture on storytelling as a way to weave words and connect cultures. Cabal will follow his performance with a question-and-answer session.

On February 8 the library will present a live virtual tour of the complete collection of presidential portraits at the National Portrait Gallery. Stationery printers often use these portraits as subjects for their patriotic pictures on notecard series.

A tour of the Ford Theatre will be the focus of the library’s live virtual programming on February 22.

To conclude the month, Earth in Crisis will continue its series on Monday, February 28 with How Hot is Hot. It will begin at 5:30 pm and end at 6:30 pm.

Registration to these events is free, but will be required in order to receive the Zoom links.
