Hat City Ball goes online for 2021

“Apart, Together” is the theme of this Hat City Ball 2021. This virtual event to benefit the Danbury Museum will take place in mid-February.

Although this event usually includes dancing, dinner, and a live auction, this year there will be no dancing or mingling, but there will be dining and the live auction. 32auctions.com will be using its online platform in a live synchronous silent auction, along with the museum’s website. Items purchased by locals can be delivered. Pre-purchased dinners can be picked up on event day and enjoyed at home.

Dinner entrees are eggplant parmigiana, Tuscan chicken, and prime rib. Meals include rolls, salad, and dessert. The prime rib and the Tuscan chicken come with seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes.

At registration, patrons can opt for extra perks such as flowers ($45) for their table, Prosecco wine ($25), or/and chocolates ($25). The $100 tickets are available at the museum website until this Friday, February 5.

Amber Room Colonnade Initiative’s New American Dream Foundation will be donating one meal to Danbury seniors for every ticket purchased. The foundation has received the 1021 Hat City Award for Preservation Excellence.

On Friday, February 12, guests can pick up their meals at the Amber Room at 1 Stacey Road. The live stream from the Amber Room will begin at 6:00 pm.

Although the museum has been closed since mid-March, individual and Corporate Gifts are needed to ensure its future.
