To celebrate the closing of the summer season, the City of Danbury will be hosting ‘Taste Of Greater Danbury’ very soon.
The two-day event is being promoted as a supersized food fest for anyone that attends. The event is free to attend, although food must be purchased.
The annual event typically draws crowds as large as 15,000 people and features a wide variety of food choices, including traditional, Mexican, and Italian, along with deli selections and ice cream. All this is complemented by music and games.
The food will be provided courtesy of many local eateries, and the Billy Joel tribute band Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot will perform on the Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. The Doug Wahlberg Band will also make an appearance on Saturday along, with Tim Charron and later Phil LoPresti. Attendees will surely want to bring a good camera to catch the festivities on film for possible use with flyer printing next year. There will also be activities for the kids of course, with some vendors serving up food and events just for them.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 12 from noon until 10:00 pm, and the following day from noon until 7:00 pm. It will be held at the City Center Green on 186 Min St. in Danbury, and there will be plenty of parking available in the nearby garages and along the streets.
