The 2023 Festival of Trees coming to Danbury in November will be Ann’s Place fundraiser’s 21st anniversary.
The event will bring in the holiday season with a forest of more than 200 decorated Christmas trees, a crafts fair, high-end raffles prizes, auction, and gifts for purchase at the Quilter’s Corner and the Boutique.
Local individuals and groups are donating handcrafted “trees” with themes ranging from their favorite place, or business to their favorite music groups. The artificial trees may be anything from tomato cages to dress Forms, decorated with anything from metal to wood. Center pieces, wreaths and other holiday decorations may also be donated.
A panel will judge the trees in categories like Best Use of Materials, Most Festive, Best in Show, Most Clever, Whimsical and Christmas Representation.
Saturday and Sunday, a Children’s Winter Village program for children 3-11 will include face painting, coloring, Holiday crafts, Lego building and photos with the Clauses.
Photos taken of family members with Santa and Mrs. Claus are often taken to Stationery printers to be made into custom Holiday Cards.
On Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, the festival will have a Friday Night Sip, Stroll & Shop event. Tickets are available for $15 and include one free drink, snacks, door prizes, and entrance into Friday’s Festival.
Festival of Trees will take place November 17th from noon to 7:00 pm, 18th and 19th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Summit, 100 Reserved Road.
