Danbury to go nostalgic with CCR cover band

The 2016 CityCenter Danbury Concert on the Green Series will be bringing Willy & the Poor Boys to Danbury early in August.

This group is a cover band that recreates the Creedence Clearwater Revival band’s 1969 to 1972 golden oldies. As always, the outdoor event will be free.

This Long Island-based group will pay tribute to legendary CCR with songs from the group’s three top ten albums in 1969 and those that came later. Some of those well-known cuts include ‘Up Around the Bend’, ‘Fortunate Son’, ‘Proud Mary’, and ‘Lookin’ Out My Back Door’. Some others classic hits include ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain?’, ‘Down on the Corner’, ‘Bad Moon Rising’, and ‘Green River’.

The Willy and the Poor Boys are a five-man group that recreates John Fogerty’s authentic sound and distinctive arrangements. It is has three vocalists, two guitars, drums, sax, and keyboard. Fans may want to check with the guys to see if they bring any Promotional Products to either give away or sell.

The event will be Friday, August 5, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm at the CityCenter band shell on the Danbury Green, 1-99 Ives Street.
