Exactly 50 years ago to the day, Danbury will get to celebrate the anniversary of The Beatles’ first concert at Shea Stadium.
The Fab4 Music Festival, presented by Liverpool Productions, will be called ‘Danbury Fields Forever’. In total, 11 bands are scheduled to appear.
This one-day event will celebrate all things to do with the iconic foursome. Beatles dealers will be selling every conceivable item that can be associated with the band, including artwork. Poster printing for the Fab Four has been in constant demand over the years.
Vendors will be hawking food, snacks and beverages. Some of the bands that will be presenting concerts during the afternoon will be The Hofners, Blue Meanies, Penny Lanc, Strictly Beatles, Afterfab, and The Oh Nos. Nekita Waller will also be performing. The special guest of honor will be Hilton Valentine of the Animals.
This will be the second year that The School of Rock’s School of Bedford, New York will have some of their students performing. These students, who are receiving instruction on bass, vocals, drums, keyboard, and guitar, are learning to perform onstage and get live experience through performing in front of live audiences such as those at this festival.
The event will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ives Concert Park, 43 Lake Avenue, Danbury. Tickets starting at $19.50 can be purchased for either festival lawn seating or general admission seating.
