The 2024 Amber Room Run from the Sun 5K is being planned for Danbury in mid-August.
The 5K course will be an out-and-back starting at the Amber Room and turning back at Candlewood Lake. Registration for both the in-person and virtual 5K runners will be $40. Those donating or raising $100 or more will receive free registration.
Proceeds from the run will go to Ann's Place, a local organization that provides support for those experiencing cancer. Run participants are asked to create teams or fundraising pages to raise money for this charity.
All racers will receive custom running T-Shirts featuring this year's event graphic design.
The race will begin at 6:30 pm, but runners are advised to come between 5:00 pm and 5:45 pm in order to have plenty of time to park and let them know you have arrived.
The after-party will be on the Amber Room's beautiful grounds, and runners are encouraged to bring chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy the barbecue, refreshments, beer, and DJ. The awards ceremony will be passing out awards for the top three male and female finishers in nine age categories, and to the top three non-binary finishers.
The 2024 Amber Room Run from the Sun 5k will take place on Thursday, August 15 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Amber Room Colonnade, 1 Stacey Road.
