Back to the Garden 1969 will be the performing group in the first concert of this year’s City Center Concert on the Green Series.
Everyone will want to bring chairs and blankets to sit on the lawn in order to enjoy an evening of reminiscing about the music and spirit of the 1969 festival at Woodstock, also known as ‘The Garden’. As with all the other concerts in the series, this one will be free.
Formed by Gary Adamson back in 2009, Back to the Garden 1969 is a six-member group with plenty of guitars, drums, keyboards, and bass that will be belting out folk music, electric and acoustic rock, as well as acid rock and soul.
The band will pay tribute by presenting the music in its original form by groups such as Joe Crocker, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Janis Joplin, and CCR. Other iconic singers that will be represented will include Santana, Jimi Hendrix, and Richie Havens.
Everyone will want to get out their tie-dyes and sandals and mark their Calendars for July 8. The event will take place at City Center Danbury, 268 Main Street, Danbury. The opening act will be Mrs. Gordon, who will begin at 7:00 pm. The main performance will start at 8:00 pm and run until 10:00 pm.
