In Danbury, the Mad Hatters Chorus will soon be presenting its 49th annual singing show.
This one is titled ‘Almost Like Being In Love!’ The chapter’s quartets, Traveling Men, Real Chemistry and Blue Moon, will be performing. Also on the program will be SUREFIRE (the 2013 Yankee Division Champions) and Vocal Spectrum (2006 International Champions).
The Mad Hatters Chorus, an a cappella men’s chorus with 30 members, will again be offering traditional barber shop harmonies, plus songs from other genres. SUREFIRE will offer more of the same only with a smaller group of guys, meaning that individual voices are more likely to be heard.
Vocal Spectrum, meanwhile, is known for Tim Waurick’s high range. All of VS’s artists are members of the larger 130-member men’s a-cappella chorus St. Louis’s Ambassadors of Harmony. Some attendees may wish to consider poster printing techniques for creating souvenirs to commemorate the event and help bring back that old music nostalgia.
The choral event will be held May 17, from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm, at Ives Concert Hall on White Street. General admission tickets are $20, while students and seniors can get theirs for $18. All tickets can be purchased either at the WCSU Box Office, online, or at the door. Visitors are also invited to drop by at rehearsals on Tuesday nights, from 7:15 pm to 10:00 pm, at the Danbury Church of Christ.
