During September, Danbury will be celebrating countries it entirely different parts of the world with a pair of events.
Danbury's Brazilian Festival will be a weekend of flavor and fun from the South American nation. A colorful Flag Raising Ceremony will kick off the festival at 10:00 am at City Hall. A parade will step off from City Hall at 11:00 am and march to City Center Green. There, the festival will have Brazilian music and entertainment, games and activities for the kids, and an alcohol garden for the adults. Food vendors will be selling Brazilian fare, and merchandise vendors will be offering global gifts and crafts.
Danbury's Brazilian Festival will be Friday, September 5 from noon to 10:00 pm, and Sunday, September 6 from noon to 8:00 pm.
The Greater Danbury Irish Festival will come a couple of weeks later. Bands will include the Celtic rock band Mighty Ploughboys, the classic Irish folk from Tipperary Knights, and the Celtic Cross Pipe & Drum.
Bands like these often have local printing services create a cultural-themed graphic or logo to use on fan merchandise.
Vendors will be selling authentic Irish merchandise such as jewelry, clothing, Gaelic calligraphy, and woodwork. Baked goods, beer, Irish coffee, and corned beef sandwiches will be available for purchase.
The Greater Danbury Irish Festival will be at CityCenter Danbury Green, 1 Ives Street on Saturday, September 20 from noon to 10:00 pm, and Sunday, September 21 from noon to 6:00 pm.
