Danbury Kiwanis host breakfast and auction

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Danbury is hosting its 16th annual Kiwanis for Kids Breakfast & Silent Auction later in April.

The organizers hope to surpass last year’s attendance, when 300 local professionals, community leaders and business owners made it possible for them to present scholarships to seven high-schoolers. These recipients showed outstanding commitment to local community service.

The committee will announce this year’s recipients of the Scholarship Awards and the Key Club Student of the Year Awards at a presentation during the morning. Local businesses and organizations are donating items of over $25 to the silent auction.

In addition to the scholarships, the local Kiwanis support the Bringing-Up-Grades programs, Halloween-on-the-Green, as well as Key Clubs at the local high schools including New Milford, Bethel, Ridgefield, New Fairfield, Danbury, and Brookfield. The organization also provides support to the World Wide children’s health initiatives sponsored by Kiwanis International.

All sponsorships come with a table for 10 guests, and some include corporate memberships and the company name/Logo Design in the program book, on the Kiwanis website, on Facebook, and at the event. The first two donors at the $2,500 level will get to include their full colored graphic design on either the front or back covers of the program book.

The event will take place Friday, April 26 from 7:30 am until 10:00 am at the Ethan Allen Hotel, 21 Lake Avenue Extension.
