Danbury kids and their families get ready for May expo

It is just about time for the annual Danbury Kids Expo.

This will be the sixth year for the event and, as always, this will be a major fundraiser for the Danbury’s contribution to the American Cancer Society.

Little ones will get to ride a train, view live animals, and get their faces painted. Other activities will include balloon art, sand art and bounce houses, and artists will be on hand to draw caricatures. Parents can register their children for Amber Alert in case their children go missing sometime in the future.

Local area children-oriented businesses and organizations will be manning booths to demonstrate, display, or pass out Flyers describing their products, services, and programs. One such organization will be Musical at Richters that offers the community family-oriented musical revues, operetta, and children’s theater. Kids can get free airbrushed tattoos at the Magical Memories Entertainment booth. Stage performances will feature groups such as the Bring the Hoopla LLC fitness center.

Parents and caregivers will want clear space on their Calendars for this Sunday, May 1. The event will be held at the Danbury Sports Dome, 25 Shelter Rock Lane, Danbury. Doors will open at 11:00 am and close at 4:00 pm. Admission for children 3 to 11 years old will be $7, and all others will be $10. Younger kids can get in free.
