Danbury grows nostalgic at Hat City Ball

At the end of January, the Danbury Museum & Historical Society will present its Hat City Ball 2020.

Tickets are $155 each and proceeds from the dinner and show will benefit the Danbury Museum. The museum's mission is to educate in the present, planning for the future while preserving the past.

The theme for Hat City Ball 2020 will be “Glitz & Glam.” This will be a black-tie optional affair and everyone is invited to wear hats. The event will be celebrating the museum’s costume collection including Marian Anderson’s performance gowns. The venue will be a supper club setting.

Frankie Sands will be paying tribute to Frank Sinatra by recreating “Mr. Sinatra’s 1962 World Tour” for the evening’s entertainment. Sands will be singing the tour’s original arrangements, and the six-piece band will use the same instruments.

A signature cocktail will be available for purchase. There will be hors d’oeuvres and dessert in addition to a surf and turf dinner. Guests can win raffle baskets, games of chance, and there will be a VIP lounge.

A photo station will be available for guests to take commemorative pictures. All images will have the Logo Design of the photo station sponsor.

Hat City Ball 2020 will be held at the Amber Room Colonnade, 1 Stacy Road, on Friday, January 24 beginning at 6:30 pm.
