Danbury goes to reggae and Grateful Dead festivals

Ives Concert Park will be the location for a day of music, fun and food first at the 5th annual Forever Grateful Music Festival, and then a week later at the 2019 8th annual West Side Reggae Festival.

The Forever Grateful Music Festival takes place today (July 20) as is a day of music and culture surrounding the iconic band, the Grateful Dead. Along with the jamming and dancing, artisans will have their works on display and many will be offering theirs for purchase. Those who sell their work at events such as this often bring Business Cards to give to passersby who may want to get in touch with them at a later date for possible custom work. Food trucks will also be vending their summer specialties.

Reggae icons such as Yellowman and Etana, Maxi Priest, and Beres Hammond will head the music lineup at West Side Reggae Festival. Some other performers will be the Anthenm Band, Hezron, K’reema, and DJ Inferno. There will be plenty of activities for the kids and food available for purchase.

Both events will be in Ives Concert Park, 43 Lake Avenue Extension and will take place rain or shine. The Forever Grateful Dead and Beyond Festival starts at 1:30 pm this afternoon, and the Reggae Festival will take place next Saturday, July 27, starting at 1:00 pm.
