Danbury combines music and fundraisers

Two music fundraisers – one Irish harp and the other a pops concert – have been scheduled for Danbury in late November and early December.

Fiddleuisce and Friends are providing an afternoon of Irish harp music played by Turlough O’Carolan, a famous Irish harpist. This will be Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Foundation’s major fundraiser for the year. While listening to elegant music, guests can enjoy signature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $25.

Carolan and Cocktails fundraiser will be Saturday, November 27 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center, 6 Lake Avenue.

The Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) Department of Music will present holiday music and treats at its annual Holiday Pops concert. Holiday classics will be performed by WCSU Performing Ensembles. These will include Wind, Chamber and Percussion ensembles, the University Choir, and its Symphonic Band. Proceeds will go to Dave Smith and Ana Grace Marquez Greene music scholarships. Online tickets are $10 and tickets bought onsite will be $15.

Music aficionados or friends of the fundraising organizations often put in flyer printing orders beforehand and put the Flyers up at their jobs, music associations, and around their neighborhoods.

Holiday Pops will be Saturday, December 4 from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm at the Veronica Hagman Concert Hall, Visual and Performing Arts Center, 43 Lake Avenue Extension.
