Danbury celebrates summer with festivals

A Throwback Tribute Festival is planned for early June.

This will be an afternoon of ‘70s and ‘80s hit tunes. A Billy Joel tribute band, Songs in the Attic, will start the festival. That performance will be followed by Decadia, a band from NYC, playing iconic movie favorites. GYPSY will recreate the music of Fleetwood Mac, and Paul McCartney will be remembered with the McCartney Years.

Throwback Tribute Festival will be Saturday, June 6 starting at 2:00 pm at Ives Concert Park, 43 Lake Avenue, Ext.

Downtown Danbury will be transformed into a street festival in early June. It will be a celebration of culture and art.

Artists and crafters will be on hand to showcase and sell their original works. Guests that stroll through these areas at popular events usually ask their favorite vendors for their Business Cards to get in touch with them at a later date.

Innovators have been asked to bring their latest ideas and inventions to share with the community. Musicians and cultural performers will be taking to the stage to perform their various talents. Numerous snack, beverage, and food trucks will be hawking their summer treats.

Parking will be available at the Bardo Garage on Library Place, and Patriot Garage, 21 Delay Street.

Danbury Street Festival will take place June 8 from 12:00pm until 6:00pm on Danbury’s Historic Main Street’s City Center Da
