Danbury will be treated to multiple Christmas music and dance events during mid-December.
The Nutcracker will be performed December 10 at 7:30 pm, December 11 at 2:30 pm and again at 7:00 pm, and December 12 beginning at 3:00 pm at the Danbury Music Centre, 43 Clapboard Ridge Road. The ballet will be accompanied by the Danbury Symphony Orchestra. Over 200 Danbury dancers will be performing in a fully staged production, which will include stunning costumes, lighting and scenery.
For a free afternoon of holiday music, everyone is invited to attend the Danbury Mad Hatter Chorus and quartets in a seasonal performance of holiday singing. Carols such as “Jingle Bells,” “Feliz Navidad,” and “Silent Night” will ring out in a cappella four-part harmony. The performance will be at 90 Clapboard Ride Road at the Church of Christ, on Saturday, December 11 beginning at 3:00 pm.
Immaculate High School, 73 Southern Blvd., will have its annual Sound of Christmas program on Sunday, December 12 at 4:30 pm. The event will feature the school’s Immaculate Band, Inspire and Junior choirs, guitar ensemble, and soloists.
Sometimes, parents of performing students get flyer printing done to get the information out to their friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
Finally, A Candlelight Christmas Concert will be performed Sunday, December 12 at 7:00 pm at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road. The free hour-long program will begin with carols sung by a local a cappella ensemble, and will end with an audience singalong.
