Arts group continues Sunday performance series

Richter Association for the Arts Performance Series Fall 2021 will continue its Sunday afternoon outdoor concerts until the end of October.

The Neil Currie Band, a Beatles tribute group, will kick off the month’s concerts on October 3. Mezzo soprano Mikova Gabriela Johnson and Shakespearian actor Stephen Paul Johnson will present Love songs and Shakespeare on October 10, and Danbury solo artist Billy Michael will perform on October 17.

On October 24, chamber musicians the Madera Wind Quintet will do the honors and the Roarin’ Ramblers will end the month and the series on October 31 with jazz from the Roaring ‘20s era.

Guests are invited to join in the Roaring ‘20s Costume Contest by arriving dressed in their best flappers, cloches and silk ties, silk top hats, double-breasted Vests, and bowlers. There will be prizes. Winners in contests such as these often like to have commemorative pictures taken to Stationery printers to become part of family Calendars.

Although admission is free, $10 donations are suggested to offset expenses. Guests are invited to bring their own lawn chairs.

Parking will be available in the golf course parking lot nearby. Attendees can opt for taking the shuttle or enjoy a leisurely stroll to the event.

The concerts are held on Sundays from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on the Richter House lawn, 100 Aunt Hack Road. The events will be cancelled if there is inclement weather.
