A cook-off featuring a classic dish is being organized in Avon for next month, allowing area residents to try several types of mac and cheese and vote on the best.
The fourth annual Mac and Cheese Cook-Off and Silent Auction is coming to town soon. This event will allow Avon residents to meet up with friends and family and try some of the best mac and cheese options in the region.
Cooks and vendors can register in three categories: traditional, meat, and gluten-free. Interested cooks can register online to reserve their spot in the competition.
The event is being organized by the West Avon Congregational Church, with the goal of raising money for Journey Home, a non-profit organization focused on ending homelessness.
In addition to the cook-off, organizers have arranged for a silent auction to give attendees an opportunity to bid on collectible items and baskets. Flyer printing can be a cost-effective way to promote such events and generate excitement in the community.
The silent auction will be supported by the area’s church members and local businesses, and organizers are hoping to bring more small businesses into the fold.
The Cook-Off will be held on Saturday, April 5, at 280 Country Club Road in Avon. The gates will open at 4:00 PM. Attendance is free, though a $10 donation is appreciated.
