Golfers in Avon who want to enjoy time on the links while the weather is warm will want to make a note of a nearby golf outing.
The Boardshorts & Birdies Open, which is being organized by the Tunxis Country Club, will be coming to neighboring Farmington later this month, giving local golfers the chance to enjoy a fun theme while showcasing their skills. The experience will use a shotgun start, which will allow for plenty of time for excitement with friends and new connections.
Golfers will put on their favorite combination of boardshorts and Hawaiian-style shirts, with bucket hats also encouraged. The competition will allow players to play all 18 holes, and participants are welcome to sign up as individuals or as part of a foursome. Event sponsors can use banner printing to produce promotional materials that make impressions at each hole.
Participants do not need to be members of the country club to register for the outing. The proceedings will move forward with rain or shine, and no official handicap is required to play. Drinks, a dinner buffet, and a golf cart are included in the registration price.
The Tunxis Country Club in nearby Farmington will host the golf outing. Check-in starts at 11:30 AM, with golfers teeing off at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 31st. Registration is open online for $119 per player.
