Author announces Avon stop on upcoming book tour

A best-selling author with several successful novels has announced an upcoming book tour, giving Avon residents an opportunity to learn about her latest novel and enjoy a meet-and-greet.

An evening with Marie Benedict is on the horizon in Avon, as the New York Times and USA Today best-selling author will be coming to town to promote her latest work, Daughter of Egypt. The in-person event is being organized and sponsored by the Friends of the Avon Library to help area residents discover a passion for reading.

The novel, which is set in the 1920s in the heart of the turbulence between Cairo, Egypt, and Great Britain, is described as a suspenseful piece of historical fiction. The plot follows the journey of a young woman who discovers the truth about a previously forgotten Pharaoh. Libraries can use flyer printing to create eye-catching promotional materials that can be placed on bulletin boards, streetlights, and other high-traffic areas to spread word of such events.

Attendees will get to hear all about the ins and outs of the novel from the author herself, while also discovering other works of hers, including The Queens of Crime and Her Hidden Genius.

The promotional event will be held at the Community Room on 281 Country Club Road in Avon. It’s set for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1st. Tickets are available online for $30 per attendee.
