Spooky season is on the horizon in Avon, and area residents with children will want to make a note in their Journals for next month, as a community event is bringing the celebration to town.
The Avon Recreation Trunk or Treat, organized by the Avon Recreation and Parks Department, is preparing to welcome local businesses and families for a safe and memorable Halloween experience. The event will provide space for children to tell their jokes and collect candy in the spirit of the holiday.
Other features of this year’s event include a large inflatable obstacle course for children to put their skills to the test, and a themed hayride. Children who attend are encouraged to wear a costume for the best experience and to bring a bag for collecting candy. Flyer printing is an excellent grassroots marketing method for raising awareness of such events in the community.
Organizers are hoping to bring local businesses, organizations, and families together to get involved and register as Trunk Hosts. Trunk Hosts can decorate the trunks of their cars with creative and spooky designs, with the best trunks receiving prizes.
The Trunk or Treat gathering will be held on Saturday, October 25 at Sycamore Hills Recreation Area. The event will move inside if there is rain. It will run from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Registration is free online.
