Savory flavors and smoked barbecue are coming to Avon next month, providing a fun event to unite area residents and raise funds for a good cause.
The Meet and Eat BBQ social will start in a few weeks. Avon resident and military veteran Merrick Forader will prepare and cook the food. It will be the event's second iteration, and the organizer aims to use barbecue and socialization to help attendees connect with puppies in need of homes.
The primary cuisine at the event will be a 16-hour-smoked pulled pork meal prepared and smoked by Forader, the owner of Merrick’s Meat. Vegetarian options, sides, and other barbecue options will be available to accommodate the dietary restrictions of all attendees. A photo booth with a professional photographer will be available at the event, and guests can arrange photos for an extra expense. Printing services are ideal for printing and framing photos from events like this.
Beer and liquor will be available at the barbecue social event, and all guests must show their ID upon arrival at the event venue. Water and other non-alcoholic beverages will be available for younger attendees.
Oma’s Pride will host the barbecue event on Saturday, June 8th, with events kicking off at 1:00pm and ending at 4:00pm. Tickets cost $33.85 per attendee and can be reserved online.
