The Victory Garden movement helped the public to stand behind American forces serving in Europe and the Pacific in World War Two, and a Loveland exhibit will provide a glimpse into this piece of the nation’s horticultural history.
The Loveland Museum has an exhibit running from mid-November until mid-February that will explore the Victory Garden movement and how it was practiced in the local area. It's been dubbed “ V for Vegetables”, and all ages may find it interesting.
The bilingual exhibit will include a variety of visual materials that showcase just how large the movement was at its height. Denver Botanic Gardens has supplied seed catalogues from its own collection, and there will be other vintage items on display as well. These show how households were encouraged to both can and preserve as much of their own food as possible and also use scraps to feed poultry and hogs. These will be joined by works of art that demonstrate how much can be accomplished when people work together during times of strife.
When a museum or other cultural institution organizes an exhibit for the public, they may also have themed Promotional Products prepared. These can be sold to visitors as souvenir fundraising items.
This chance to take a step back in time to the days of the Victory Garden will run from November 14th of 2025 until February 15th of 2026. The museum’s website includes information for anyone who plans on paying a visit.
