Loveland introduced to natures orchard

Whether they have an orchard or now, Loveland residents can enjoy fruit picked freshly from the tree, and an upcoming class will help point the way.

Orion’s Apothecary will be offering an introduction to both native and naturalized fruit that grows wild in Colorado, and it will be held in time for blossom season. Both stone and small fruit will be in the discussion.

The session will cover trees such as wild cherries and plums, and will also include gooseberries, currents, juneberries, huckleberries, and raspberries. Everyone will find out how they can forage both safely and ethically, and tips for timing, essential equipment, and how to make use of the harvest will be shared. Orion Aon of Forage Colorado will lead the activity, and the fee to register is $30 per person.

Learning how to forage for wild foods can be a tasty and budget-friendly hobby, and taking part in workshop can give a safe grounding to the subject. Materials prepared by a flyer printing company can help to spread the word about an upcoming event, and can be tucked into Shopping Bags, sent through the mail, and distributed in other ways.

Loveland's future fruit foragers will be getting their feet wet with this introduction scheduled for Sunday, May 17 from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon. The location will be 270 E 29th Street.
