Golden shines bright this winter

The Olde Golden Candlelight Walk will take place this December.

Organized by the Olde Golden Holiday Committee, it is a tradition that draws residents and visitors to the heart of the historic downtown, and is free to attend.

Festivities start at 5:00 pm with a pre-show in Parfet Park featuring seasonal music and entertainment. At 6:30 pm, participants will gather at 15th Street and Washington Avenue for the candlelit walk through downtown Golden. With candles in hand, families and friends will sing carols and stroll together, creating a luminous procession down Washington Avenue.

Local shops and cafés will remain open throughout the evening, offering warm drinks and holiday treats. At the end of the walk, the city will illuminate 45,000 holiday lights throughout Clear Creek and downtown, signaling the official start of Golden’s festive season.

Parking is available at city garages, lots, and neighborhood zones, with two free hours offered before standard hourly rates apply. Free parking will also be available at the Clear Creek lot at 304 10th St, and the Ore Cart shuttle will provide free transportation around downtown and connections to RTD’s W Line.

Organizers may employ flyer printing as a practical method to share event details and encourage broad community participation.
