Golden Gallop returns for 19th year
Golden, Colorado will once again host the Golden Gallop, an annual fundraising event supporting local schools through the Golden Schools Foundation.
Now in its 19th year, the event includes multiple race options: a 5K, 10K, Kids Fun Run, and a virtual “Sleep In” entry for those who prefer to support from home.
Both the 5K and 10K races will guide participants through the scenic streets of Golden, starting and finishing near Golden High School beneath the city’s iconic arch. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join runners in the 5K and 10K events, provided they are registered as race add-ons. Each registered dog will receive a special giveaway item. Strollers are also allowed but must begin at the rear of the pack.
Prizes include $150, $100, and $50 for the top three female and male finishers in the 5K and 10K. A $100 bonus is offered to any runner who creates a new track record. Age-group awards will also be distributed across ten categories, ranging from ages 10 and younger to 80+.
Race entry fees are $43.65 for the 5K, $48.95 for the 10K, $22.45 for the Kids Fun Run, and $38.35 for the Sleep In option. Registration includes a t-shirt, though sizes are only guaranteed for those who sign up by September 1st.
