Golden to celebrate art in a new location

The Golden Fine Arts Festival is taking place in a new location for its 36th year.

The two-day event, put on by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, celebrates many Forms of art and gives attendees the opportunity to enjoy a variety of food and entertainment.

Inviting artists both locally and those who travel from outside of Colorado, part of the festival is a judged competition of art across several categories. Cash prizes will be awarded to those placing first or second in their grouping.

The organizers also allow local businesses sponsorship opportunities. One such option is to have a company banner displayed along the fence of the location, which will be visible to many attendees. Often, companies seek out banner printing services for such occasions.

Around 100 artists were selected by a jury to attend and will have their art on display to be judged in the competition and enjoyed by the public. Styles of art will include sculpture, photography, painting, fiber arts and more. There will also be live entertainment, food vendors, and beer and wine gardens for adult attendees.

This year’s event will be taking place in Parfet Park in Golden on August 15 and 16. The festival is free to attend for all ages, however the event is not dog friendly, and attendees are asked to leave pets at home.
