Cyclocross racing will take center stage once again at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds this December.
Competitors from across the state will gather for the Colorado Cyclocross State Championship, also known as Wild West Cross. The event will feature a challenging course and a day of fast-paced racing across multiple divisions, with state titles on the line.
Riders can expect a demanding and diverse terrain that includes multiple stair climbs, barn passes, and off-camber sections, promising excitement and a stiff challenge. The fairgrounds’ central location in Golden will provide easy access from Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs, making it a hub for the state’s cycling community.
Registration is open until Thursday, December 4, at 2:00 pm. Entry fees are $45 for adults, $40 for juniors ages 13 to 18, and $35 for juniors ages 9 to 12. Onsite registration on the event day will be available for an additional fee – $55 for adults, $35 for older juniors, and $30 for younger juniors – beginning at 7:00 am.
The event will be chip-timed, with results available live and posted online. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each category. Parking is free, and the fairgrounds will enforce a no-alcohol policy during the event.
Recurring athletic events like this one may rely on flyer printing to keep the community informed and looking forward to their return.
Taking place on Saturday, December 6 starting at 8:15 am, the event will be at Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 West 6th Ave, Golden.
