Things about to hot up in San Diego

A fun event is back on the schedule in Ocean Beach, a San Diego neighborhood.

The OB Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off, which has been a fixture for over 40 years, will be back this year after taking a year off due to health concerns. There is a lot going on in Ocean Beach on the day in addition to chili. Vendors will be on hand, as will artists and musicians, and the popular beer garden will also be back.

The centerpiece of the day is the Chili Competition, where amateur chefs will compete for the Judges’ Award, the Hottest Chili, and the Grand Prize: People’s Choice Award.

Music will be played continuously on four stages. Genres to be performed include Americana, alternative, blues, rock, and acoustic.

The Artists Alley will bring artisans and craftspeople from throughout the region. Attendees can find unique gift items as they enjoy demonstrations by the artists.

The Beachside Beer Garden will be open throughout the day to those over 21. The garden is beside the main stage, so people will be able to listen to music while they enjoy a cooling brew. There is also a burger-eating contest planned. Flyer printing can be used to provide schedules to attendees of events like this.

Now in its 41st year, the event is scheduled for June 26, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and is expected to draw in excess of 70,000 visitors. Admission is free.
