Rock and country dream team visits San Diego

Fans of two music legends have been hoping they would team up, and now they are on tour together.

Country music icon Wynonna Judd has joined with legendary rocker Melissa Etheridge for their Raised on Radio Tour, which is taking them across the country. The artists announced the tour to their fans on March 9, via a post on Instagram, saying they were “so excited” to let their fans know about the project. In a video they made to promote their travels, the artists explained the reason for their venture, saying:

“We grew up on the same songs, the same airwaves, and the same kind of music that brings people together.”

The fan reaction included some saying the duo was “the best collab ever” and an “elite pairing,” while another said “what a show that will be!”

Explaining the tour’s name, Judd says that as a child, she spent late nights glued to the radio speaker, enjoying songs that made her feel like someone understood her. The radio was her comfort, teacher, and escape, and eventually inspired her to pursue her career.

Etheridge has similar sentiments about her experiences as a child in Leavenworth. She listened to a local station that played everything from country to rock, and this inspired her to become a musician.

The artists will appear at The Rady Shell in Jacobs Park on Saturday, July 11. When they set up concerts like this, organizers can turn to poster printing to create advertising for them.
