Electronic music comes to San Diego

Three bands that bring their various takes on electronic music are coming to San Diego this weekend.

Bob Moses, CANNONS, and Oxis will appear at The Rady Shell in Jacobs Park, bringing a smorgasbord of music for audiences to enjoy. Despite the name, Bob Moses is two people, Jimmy Vallance and Tom Howie. They first got together in New York City and are now based in Vancouver, Canada. Their music is part indie rock and part electronic music, and they have released five albums thus far. “BLINK,” which they released in 2025, received this comment from Billboard:

“All of the smoothness and sophistication we’ve long loved about the duo’s output is present…with Tom Howie’s rich vocals giving emotional depth to the lush productions.”

CANNONS’ mix of synthwave, disco, and electro-pop has excited audiences at Lollapalooza, Coachella, and elsewhere. Their song “Fire for You” earned a Gold rating, topped the Billboard Alternative chart, and was used in the television series “American Horror Story.”

Oxis is Valentina Cy, who names her tracks for fish—tuna in Latin is Oxis. She combines electronic music with soft pop, resulting in unique albums that fans love as much as they enjoy the artwork that accompanies them.

The concert is scheduled for May 2; the venue is located at 200 Marina Park Way. Shows like this benefit from the publicity they receive when organizers promote them using poster printing.
