Multiple genre-band heads to San Diego
A group that has become known for their energetic performances, huge discography, and work with multiple genres will appear in San Diego.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard first got together in Melbourne, Australia, in 2010. They began their career with records that blended garage rock and surf music. During the early 2010s, they released psychedelic rock albums, then later began to incorporate other styles. Their 2015 album “Quarters!” featured jazz fusion, while “Paper Mâché Dream Balloon,” also released in 2015, was inspired by folk music.
Their next album, “Nonagon Infinity, released in 2016, won the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album. The band made a promise to their fans to release five albums in a single year, a task they completed in 2017; then they did the same thing in 2022. From 2012 to 2025, they have released 27 albums.
They are also at the center of something called the “Gizzverse,” an ongoing saga in which characters and themes appear on multiple albums. A review of this unique band says:
“King Giz & The Liz Wiz are the biz. Live on stage, they deliver their jams, thrashes and meanderings in a show that surfs through their far-beyond-eclectic back catalogue in style.”
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will be at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park in San Diego on August 11. When organizers book performances like this, they often use poster printing methods to create advertising for them.
