Chicano Batman is on tour with Le Butcherettes, and the combination promises a great night. Chicano Batman first got together in 2008 in Los Angeles, which remains their home base. The outfit draws on a number of genres, including rock, prog, indie, funk, and psychedelic soul, to create their sound. They have proven to be a favorite at major festivals including Bonnaroo and Coachella.
A review says:
“. . . from the jubilant reaction of the packed house at Tuesday night’s concert, it was clear that this band deeply resonates with lots of . . . folks . . .”
Le Butcherettes is a garage punk band that first formed in 2007 in Guadalajara, Mexico, relocating to Los Angeles two years later. The band seems to channel both Sweeney Todd and KISS, as the frontwoman, Teri Gender Bender, wears zombie makeup and a bloody butcher's apron, and is backed up by bandmates wearing luchador masks, of the type worn by professional wrestlers.
A review notes:
“Le Butcherettes played a great show, so much energy and a unique style makes them a must see.”
The bands will be at SOMA on May 16, 2021, at 8.30 pm. Flyer printing can be used to publicize events like this.
