Rock bands in San Diego

Four big names in rock are on the way to San Diego.

Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Poison are coming to Petco Park later this summer.

Mötley Crüe first got together in 1981 in Los Angeles. Seven of their albums have gone platinum, or multi-platinum, and the band has sold more than 100 million albums throughout the world.

Def Leppard was formed in Sheffield, England, in 1977. One of the best-selling groups of all time, their 1983 album “Pyromania” went to Diamond Status (ten times platinum). Their next album, “Hysteria,” was even more successful, going to twelve times platinum status.

Three albums from Joan Jett and the Blackhearts have been certified either platinum or gold, and the Blackhearts' hits, which include songs like “I Love Rock and Roll” are iconic.

A review says:

“Joan always puts on a great show . . . go and see her! You won’t be disappointed!”

Poison put ten singles on the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, and their debut album, “Look What the Cat Dragged In,” went multi-platinum in 1986.
