A young comedian on his way up will be visiting San Diego at the start of next year.
Ralph Barbosa is from Dallas, Texas, and describes his family life as mirroring the richness and complexity of the family in “The Godfather.” Seeing the highs and lows of life during childhood, he uses these experiences to influence his comedy.
Barbosa was in high school when he discovered he had the gift of making people laugh. He disliked schoolwork, but wound up staying up late every night writing jokes to tell his classmates the following day. His skill with humor amused his friends and gave him an escape from school routine, as well as starting him on his road to fame.
His success has been startling. He has had his own special on Netflix, appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, and his stand-up special on Comedy Central received more than three million YouTube views. He starred in “Entre Nos: The Winners 3,” an HBO Max comedy special, and performed in “Don’t Tell Comedy,” which is available on YouTube and has now been seen over 4.5 million times. He has also won the competition for Funniest Comic in Texas, as well as the New York Latino Film Festival Stand-Up competition.
Ralph Barbosa will be at San Diego’s Balboa Theatre for two days, January 12 and 13, giving two performances each day. When events like this are planned, organizers can advertise them using poster printing.
