Hit show to come to San Diego

A show that has earned raves from audiences is coming to San Diego next month.

“The Choir of Man” is the creation of Andrew Kay, the man behind “Gobsmacked,” “Noise Boys,” “Soweto Gospel Choir,” and “North by Northwest,” the stage version of the classic film by Alfred Hitchcock. Kay worked with Nic Doodson on the project; Doodson’s credits include “Noise Boys,” “Gobsmacked,” and “The Magnets.”

The upcoming production, “The Choir of Man,” is set in a pub, and gives audiences 80 minutes of sheer entertainment that includes live music, energetic dances, and lively choreography, performed by a cast of nine young men who handle everything from classic rock to sing-along numbers. Poster printing is frequently used by organizers of events like this, since it creates striking advertising.

The show is designed as a pub gig and features Broadway tunes, choral numbers, and songs from genres ranging from rock to folk to pub tunes. The cast members include singers, instrumentalists, poets, and expert tap dancers. The variety means the show appeals to all audiences, who will find the experience both fun and uplifting.

One of the most unique aspects of the production is that it is set in a pub, which features a working bar. The cast pulls pints and then invites members of the audience to come up on stage and enjoy a beer while they watch the action from their seats at on-stage tables.

“The Choir of Man” will play at the Balboa Theatre on February 24 at 7:30 pm.
